Twenty years ago marked the beginning of a movement in Maryland: a movement to ensure that all Marylanders could access quality, affordable health care. Together we have made tremendous progress toward that goal and have much to celebrate! Please stop by to join us for this anniversary reception, mingle with fellow coalition partners and supporters and join us in honoring a few very special people who have made unique and profound contributions in the effort to achieve health care for all.
This event is free and open to all who have been a part of the Coalition's work over the past twenty years and their friends and family. Space is limited. Please register today!
Donations can be made through this secure site and at the event. Tax-deductible donations will build the organization's capacity for public outreach and education. Non-tax deductible donations can be made to the Maryland Citizens' Health Initiative, Inc. to fund important direct and grassroots lobbying to further our shared goals.
Rosanna Miles
The Tom Hobbins Health Care Justice Award
Mrs. Rosanna Miles served as the Senior Deputy Director of the organization between 2002-2014. She was a powerful force behind-the-scenes leading coalition building, community outreach and grassroots mobilization for major campaigns which resulted in hundreds of thousands of Marylanders gaining health care coverage. Her legacy is a strong foundation upon which our advocacy efforts continue to this day. Long-time supporter and masterful advocate in her own right, Mrs. Jen Hobbins, wife of founding Board member Dr. Tom Hobbins, will present the award.
Michael Pretl
The Joel Rabin Health Care Leader Award
Michael Pretl, Esq. provided invaluable legal counsel that shaped and informed every decision and development within our organization for twenty years. He served as founder and sage adviser for many dozens of other organizations in Maryland and across the country. He was an invaluable member of our team. His wife, Mrs. Michelle Hughes, will receive the award from Mrs. Nancy Rabin.
Please join us in honoring these incredible individuals! If you can't attend, please consider making a donation in their honor.
